in most majors and colleges, you'd be over 1/3 of the way to a degree. why don't you finish your education and go to OTS/OCS/shortened ROTC program?

sounds like you are just unhappy with the way your current course of education is taking you. I'm also near that point. the only thing that you really can do is try and find something that will motivate you to stay in college. I've gone through three majors at the time and I hope that this one is a good fit or I'm gonna have one helluva time changing it after the summer. I also joined Pershing Rifles the previous semester and that helped get me through. You can see what your school has to offer in the way of clubs, groups and organizations.

eh, there's always the GI bill when you get out. I think they'll also pay for some of your credits while you are still in and at some schools they will count your military service toward credit hours. it's your life and you get to make the decisions.

    GET YOUR DEGREE

You can enlist, go the officer route, stay a civilian - whatever you want.

There will always be doors closed to you if you don't get your degree.

especially being close like that. there are no windows of enlistment, you can go today, you can go tomorrow, you can go in 3 weeks. finish it off, then join up. if you decide you dont want to go officer you at least save yourself time going from E2 to E3.

I'm thinking National Guard while I'm at school and then either a. Air Force or b. Army. Army is more likely though.

no matter what if you plan on joining find out about the CLRP: College Loan Repayment Program!

Shit NEEDS to be on your contract when you join for you to take advantage of it. With the AF, they'll pay back up to $10,000 bucks of your college loans over the first 4yrs you're in........catch is you won't be able to use your SGLI until you reup. But you won't really use your SGLI until you're out anywho so ya.

    I's be using this :bigthumb:

oh and theres no real advantage enlisting as an E3. It comes to pay really, some extra change over others.....then you grad tech school (depending on length) when other sew on E3 as well.

    I's done this too:dunno:

not every rate graduates as an E3, not every rate guarentees promotion in school. You can come in as an E1 and go out into the fleet as an E1. There is a huge advantage. If you enlist as an E3 thats 18 months you've just skipped in the timeline.

honestly, just take a few online classes until you get the extra 6 hours. it won't take more than 2-3 months if you push yourself

Your SGLI is term life insurance. You'll lose it once you leave the service.
