Any suggestions? I know it will never hit as hard as a sub but I'm looking for components with a little thump.

I've got a set of CDT CL 6.5s laying around the house that I will probably use with my old faithful Punch 100. I'm hoping this will do the trick but I'm open to suggestions.

Seal your componets instead of IB?

Anything other than an amp in the trunk is out of the question. My massive sub/box days are over.

I've been doing some reading and found out that the CDT speakers that I got aren't the greatest when it comes to midbass. But I'm gonna toss them in anyway and see what happens. The door is dynomated so hopefully that will work in my favor:x:

If you want boom, you're not gonna be happy with just a set of components. Even a small sub that doesn't take up much space would do the trick for some added depth. Like a single Kicker L5 8" or a pair of EU-700's. What kind of car is it?? You may even be able to mount the EU-700's in the rear doors to get the bass without sacrificing the trunk.

Well I think I asked the question wrong. I'm not going for "boom" you can hear down the street just a nice clear bass. Similar to what a lot of new cars have.

All this is going in an Evo which I know isn't the most sound efficient car but I know the sound I'm looking for and it can be had without a sub. But the 8s in the rear deck lid ain't a bad idea but I'll need a decent set of front components before I do that project.

I'd look into an IB sub setup in the rear deck.

I didn't know you were heavy into sound until I had already made the thread and was sifting through the forum:hs:. But I'm still open to suggestions:x: I haven't started the install yet.
