    Friends,

I am very glad to have found this forum! I have a question, for which I hope to tap your collective knowledge. I am primarily a Mac user, but I inherited a PC from a friend who acquired a new system. I would like to join the PC to my little wirless network, but do not know how. What is required to make it work with my Airport Extreme set-up?

I will be grateful for any help and advice! :x:

    Warm regards,

    Dave

The PC in question, is it a desktop or a notebook? Assuming it does not have a wireless card installed already, you could either purchase a PCMCIA Wireless Card (for a notebook) or a PCI wireless card (if its a desktop)

Any wireless-g compatible card will work with your airport express with no problems. The only issue you may run into is a conflict between wireless security, depending on which version of Windows is on the PC.

Let me know if i can be of any further assistance.

    Salutations,

    Rob

    robwormald,

Thank you! My PC - which is definitely the neglected child in my computer family - is a desktop model, running Windows XP.

    Warm regards,

    Dave

May i suggest either : Linksys PCI Card which would require opening the computer up to install it (and a free PCI slot) or a wireless USB adaptor

you'll find the installable card will give you better range and more reliability, and that hte USB interface will be slower, but easier to install.

    Good luck!

    Rob
