any ideas? the stock i have is in good shape, but the shellac was fucked up a bit and didn't match how nice the rest of the rifle was. so i stripped it, big mcsteak. the wood is stained real bad, it looks like a leopard it has so many spots.

anybody have any ideas what i could do? i've thought about just staining it real real dark, but i thought i'd check here before i wasted anymore time

klean strip makes a product called wood bleach thats available in some lumber yards. It will bleach the entire stock white and then you can stain it and shellac it back to the color of your choice.

They do sell replacement stocks for about 60-70 bucks but they don't always fit

I have a stock you can have if you will cover shipping and a little bit for my time in packaging and dropping it off at FedEx.

Woops, I have an M38 stock. Not sure how those differ from the M44, but it's yours if you think it will work. Looks like they are the same from this pictures I found.

You can just use regular Chlorox too, proably cheaper. I've done it before on AK stocks.
