    Cheating isn't always :greddy:

I played through FFVI at least 4 more times because I could change up everyone's special moves, and get badass weapons and stuff. Tara with Shock, Magiteck, Thieve, and Dance instead of the other crap they gave her was .

I miss my 3405 HP Ford Focus, and 5000 HP AWD shitbox jap hatchback in GT3. Fucking things hauled ass.

Shit like that that made the game tons more fun and gave it all kinds of replayability. They need to bring some of that stuff back. :o

Kids nowadays would rather earn achievements and trophies.

I never had anything like that... cheating :mamoru:. The only time I used it was when I was at my cousins house when I was really young, used Game Genie with Prince of Persia for the NES so you could never die or something like that. Inputting long codes FTL.

I liked how you could see you were cheating because the Game Shark looked like a tumor coming out of your NES, SNES, Game Boy, Genesis, etc.

Game Shark completely fucked up my Pokemon Red... never seen a Game Shark actually mess up a cartridge like the box suggested it could do. I was fucking livid. I had 131 pokemans cheat-free before I got the GS :sad2:

I had a friend who would look up GS codes before even buying a new game, I don't think he played one game legit while he had it. But I remember having it and trying to get Laura Croft nekkid. :coold:

I'm not talking about cheating to win. I'm talking about pulling more enjoyment out of a game. I played through FFVI a few times before ever using a genie. I had some of the best cars in the game in GT3 before I got bored and made cars ridiculously better than they should have been. If I got bored with a game, I could usually make it better or more interesting in some way.

Shit, looking at it that way it's like an investment for getting more for your money. :eek3:

I remember renting a Game Genie for Super Nintendo because there was a code to play as the bosses in Street Fighter 2.

Never had one otherwise...but after selling my Nintendo then rebuying it years later - it came with a Game Genie and I used it to play some old NES games. Seemed to mostly glitch shit out!

I used to purposely try and figure out the cheat codes for games before they got printed in magazines

did the cheats for most of the mortal kombat games and tomb raider 2 and a few others

I remember playing super mario 3 with a hammer bros or frogger suit. The only problem with the frog suit was that you couldn't slide under things. I got stuck at one level when the only way to get pass was to do a slide.

I loved those things, I had one for every system I had, made the games a lil more fun after I already beat them.

With achievements and "trophies" they won't be around anymore

Actually I think one of the biggest reasons we won't see them around anymore is because of online gaming. Cheaters, and bannings and whatnot. :dunno:

Yeah that too. That and achievements. Whats the point of having them if put in a code and bam 1000/1000 without even playing. GS whores would love that though.
