Seriously, this guy is the man. Here's his latest video.

    [y]Owd2kpAtCY4[/y]

Watch his others. He's not a fanboy, he just tells it like it is and actually proves his points with facts/demos. He recently proved that M$ cripples your 360 if it sees an available internet connection, even if you've never gone online with it. Guy bought like three 360 elites just to prove it.

I stopped paying attention to him when he started complaining about his XBox Live subscription actually costing the entirety of his Internet connection, in a roundabout way.

The Live infrastructure you use to interact and play with your online friends isn't free, and while I agree they're definitely making an incredible profit in the process of offering this service, it's not free and you will be asked to pay for it.

This guy only has a semblance of credibility/logic, but if you dig even a little under the surface, you realize how far gone he actually is...

Explain this, cause I honestly don't understand what you are saying.

Not to sound like a schmuck, but my 360 works fine and it ALWAYS has an available internet connection.

Certain games demand an update if you want to play them, like Borderlands. If you disconnect that 360 from the online router, you won't be able to play it.

I am not sure what to say about that.

Truth is, when a game like borderlands needs an update I generally don't know what it is updating.

There are all kinds of stuff that could need updating that would have no bearing on a single player game whatsoever.

On the other hand, over the last 6 months I have become kind of suspicious of PC games.
I have been working on this idea that companies ship PC games that are purposefully crippled. The idea is that they ship the crippled game, people create a crack for it, then they update the game forcing a new and possibly more complicated crack.

I am on the fence with that idea. Some days it seems plausible (*cough*NSF SHIFT*cough*) and other days I feel like I am a bit more paranoid then normal.

You know, this guy didn't need 9 xbox's to make his point. All he needed where 2 xboxs and 2 copies of a game. Let one update and keep the other off the net. Then have 2 people playing the same single player game side by side.

That this guy has invested so much money into this experiment makes me think he might be just this side of nuts.

Activision releases buggied and unfinished games.
Ubisoft has the worst customer service and doesn't listen to their fans.
EA just wants to steal your personal information through their games.

If it were to me, I'd erase Ubisoft then Activision off the game industry.

Activision releases games missing key features in order to turn a higher profit. Ubisoft plans to require an internet connection anytime you want to play their games. EA rapes old staples of gaming, has released rehashed content for almost 5 years now and doesn't listen to their fans.

If it were me, I'd do away with publishers all together unless they want to pass on any say they would have during game development :o

Sadly they're a necessary evil. :hsd:

His point is that they aren't GAME updates. They're mandatory CONSOLE updates that M$ puts on game discs to have ads pop up on your dashboard. The update on the disc has nothing to do with the game itself, and is not necessary for play.

The 360 would force this update if an ethernet cable was plugged in, right out of the box. No XBL account or anything. It would also force it at any point thereafter, ethernet cable or not. Just plugging a connected ethernet cable to your system automatically taints it, and M$ forces all these ads and shit upon you.

No ethernet cable, no "update" message from the disc.

I'm watching all his videos. He's complaining about the CONSOLE update? Or the GAME update? I thought he was complaining about the SECOND updates that say "security etc." ones when it had/saw an internet connection originally.

I don't think he's arguing that the console needs an update to play newer games that came out in 2009/2010 when the console came out 5 years ago. What's to dispute about that?

He was complaining that the XBOX that had the Internet connection ONCE, receives a SECOND non-console update and the one that NEVER had an Internet connection only gets the console update.
