While it's usually a no no to use lethal force to protect property most places (other than Texas), Up here in the Northern part, where it's more conservative, the DA's tend to feel that if you are stupid enough to try to steal, it's fine to get shot at. I am all for it. I work hard for my stuff and if you are stupid enough to try to take it, you have basically removed yourself from the human race and it's my right to defend my stuff at the expense of your measly life.

i think i'm in love. i've thought about getting a place in nevada somewhere so i can have a place to go to escape from the city to recharge the batteries when i need to. oh and it'd be a great place to buy the guns we california peasants can't have.

Thank you, I too wish everyone felt this way. It would make criminals think twice. But I guess the anti gun folk will just keep giving criminals a reason to keep trying.

Depends on the juristiction. The DA in Reno is one of those that believes that you should be able to defend property with lethal force. Gammick is a hardnose.

I need to go looking through the lawbook again. I think there are still laws that allow lethal force if you steal a horse :)

True though that state law is state law, it's just how DA's and judges interpret it for their juristiction.

i feel property, from my DVD player to my actual physical home, should be secure. and if the deadbolt is not enough to secure it, me amd my gun definitely are.

if people got shot while breaking and entering, you'd have a lot less people trying to burglarize private homes.

unfortunately, some humans still need desperate measures to learn a lesson... and it's sad that many human choose to disbelieve this fact.

In Mississippi as long as they are black, and they are doing ANYTHING illegal you can shoot them and all you will get is a highfive.

You don't even have to take a class to get a CCW - all you gotta do have is have them (department of safety) take a picture of you, give fingerprints and pay $100.

Hell if you are over 18 you can legally carry a loaded pistol in your vehicle.

I have a lot of family in MS :o .. that state is nice when it comes to gun laws..

That's what's funny about Nevada. If you don't have a CCW, you can conceal a loaded pistol anywhere in your car; under the seat, in the glove box, in the center console. Anywhere EXCEPT concealed on you. Course that doesn't apply in Vegas.

Nevada sucks because they don't honor a Colorado CHL.
I am going to Tahoe this weekend unarmed. I hate being unarmed.

That's one thing I wish they would change. We are recognized in other states and we should recognize others.
You going to north shore or south shore? If you go to south shore, most of Stateline is in CA.

Just have to be careful about steppng over that line :)
I used to park about 1/2 block up from the borderline and sit there waiting for the drunks to stagger over from NV into CA. :)

sigh, that brings back memories. In the winter there would be a swarm of south americans that came to Tahoe to work the ski resorts and there would always be these awesome latin girls who loved the uniform :) I oftentimes had to respond to noise complaints at the hotels and I would show up only to find these brazillian girls half dressed throwing a party. I would tell them to keep it down and almost always get invited back after shift.
sigh. Oh the stories I have. I loved working up there.

That's a big no no. Carrying in your hand would be brandishing. Now if you had a shoulder rig on, just take off your coat :)

Not knowing the rules of the city you live in can get you into trouble. In Sparks (and Carson City) you can carry in the open in a holster with a round in the chamber, BUT if you cross into Reno, you have to unload that round. If you have a CCW, it doesn't matter if a round is chambered or not IF it's concealed. Same goes for in the car I believe. I haven't checked if the rules have changed though since they have a new police chief coming in. (and once again they passed over the 2nd in command and hired a chief from CA)

Stayed in the casinos mostly, pretty crapy weather so didn't go outside. Hopefully by the time I go back, Colorado & Nevada will have reciprocity,

No it doesn't make any sense, but then again, it's liberal run county there and conservative run for the rest of the state. That's why the rules are so lenient everywhere but LV.

It's getting there. All the Kalifornians trying to escape their state come here to NV, then they try to change NV to be like their old state. We have those up here trying to do that shit now.

It may all be considered North Las Vegas, but there is a HUGE difference when you go South of Cheyenne. You go from NLV to Norftown Nukkah.

I don't likey the NLV cops. The ones I've dealt with have been real assholes. Guess they aren't used to someone who knows his rights. It was funny when I got pulled over last time in NLV. The guys was all ready to search my car and was about to open the door when I told him he couldn't search. From the look on his face, you'd think it was the first time he'd ever heard someone say that.

Then again, working in a war-zone will do that to a person. I think we should build a wall around NLV and dump piles of crack and guns into the city.

After that, just hose it out and rebuild.
