I never really used anything in the past for an organizer but iCal is so simple, it syncs with my nokia 6230. I think it took me a couple months after getting my first mac to realize how cool it is.

I can't wait for the iPhone...I'll finally have a PDA that works seamlessly with it...I used an iPaq with Missing Sync for a while until it crapped itself.

It syncs flawlessly with my SonyEricsson. Alarms even seem to work well. :)

i keep hoping against hope that iCal will improve. it's overly simple in some regards.

for example, would it kill them to add support for recurring tasks (e.g. so you can check off that you paid a bill and automatically have a new one created due a month from then)?

I publish my ical calenders onto iCal Exchange (www.icalx.com) and then subscribe to them through google calenders. Gmail quickly won me over from mail.app, right now i still use iCal more than Google Calenders but, gcal is quickly catching up.
