k i have a sony dcr-trv103, its a digital8 camcorder. it has a iLink cable. is that the same as a firewire cable. i looked at the sony website and its 75 bux!! wtf. that crazy expensive for just a cable. what do i need to take the vid off of the camcorder and to my laptop so i can edit and make vcds. i have a firewire port on the laptop.
do i have any alternative than buying that 75 dollar cable??? :hs:

you can even use the "playstation 2 link cable" which is basically a 4 point i.link for about 15 bucks.

I could be wrong but I think the 6 pin is just for supplying power to say your Ipod to recharge it. Otherwise, 4 pins should be fine I would guess.
