all the way out to ft. lost in the woods, Missouri.
i was a little nervous but meh
then again i was 22 years old so i suppose it was different for me, in all honnesty I think rushing and going through hell week in my fraternity prepared me the most out of anything for basic
I'm 21 and I have a sleeve. I'm already drawing attention to myself.
Worst part is, My dad just got promoted to Colonel and knows most of the guys down there... I really hope my name doesn't hold some weight in things that I have to do. I don't want to be looked at like "a colonel's daughter"
keep that shit to yourself and deny, deny. One of the guys in my cycle was cousins with the CSM and we raged his ass the whole time. Bitch ass still got soldier of the cycle waiver for promotion and was a total shitbag
yeah, I try to keep it to myself now but, sometimes it's hard when I fill out my paperwork and they recognize my name.
My dad is already getting calls about me joining
I'm not saying a word though, hell no.
amber are you serious ?
wow, i'd like to go to your graduation if i can ... i'd have to know in advance so i can take days off and plan accordingly,
alright well, it's in early feb. I'll let you know the exact date.
I get to go home for christmas during basic...sucky part is, I won't want to go back
das some crazy shit, ... i know Marines that got to watch a movie during boot camp as their Christmas break,
I thought block leave was the same for all branches
Ewwww Ft Leonard Wood. Have fun
trust me, I know all about it
basic is a joke. no big thing
fuck, going home sucks during basic/ait...it is leave time that you will want back later...
Do what you're told.
Do it fast.
Don't argue or question commands.
Volunteer. You chose the military. You're enlisted. Your goal is to be an NCO. Volunteer for leadership positions (squad leader, platoon guide). Challenge yourself.
Basic wasn't bad. It was just LONG. It never seemed to end. But it does. Take it one day at a time.
Oh yeah. Always go first, if possible. No one knows anything, so they expect you to fuck up. But when you go last in a platoon of 30-40 guys, there's some expectation that you will do better having seen the others. So go first.
Kick ass, sister. As for the family thing, you work your ass off, and it won't matter. And don't do that girly shit, batting your eyes at the DI or mess sgt. Frickin' pisses me off.
MSG with 25 years
have fun on your weekend leave
what branch? i go into boot for USAF soon too. Texas here I come. Glad it isn't in the summer at least.
it's fort leonard wood army
the father of a dude i went to basic with was the 15th signal brigade commander
Summer in Texas is year-round...so you aren't out of the woods yet.
