I used to be super skinny, like 6 feet 140. Now I'm about 180, and my neck is totally out of proportion. Gonna start working it tomorrow. God I'm an idiot.

lol, thoes are guys look like their training for a dick sucking competition. Just hit the shit out of your traps and it oughta fill out. I never do any sort of "neck" exercises and mine looks just fine, you must have a weird giraffe neck or something.

Do them if you think you need em and if it will make you feel better about your neck.

boxers and wrestlers strengthen their neck for a reason. bodybuilders do not train their neck. it depends on what goals you have.

thats said I have started to do some on a semi-regualr basis.....wanna see if I can break 20in!

edit: when I started lifting a size 15 shirt was loose on my neck...

I've been using the neck harness on "off days" at my new gym. A strong neck is essential. Do them.

I train my neck 2-3 times a week. It grew almost an inch in the first month I started. (around a 17" now)
I noticed immediately when doing a thai clinch in kickboxing and just basic wrestling I am a lot stronger than I was.
I also like how it looks thicker.

I've read that the neck responds and grows fairly quickly

Be carefull when you start excersizing your neck. Personally, my neck would cramp at night if I worked it out too hard and did not stretch.

I started off with having my girlfriend do resistance excersizes with me in 4 directions. Basically I would lay on the end of the bed, with my head hanging over the side. She would apply enough pressure using her hands and body weight to press down on my forehead and I would resist or slightly circum to the pressure and then elevate my head in the upward direction. I did 20 reps in all 4 angles (front, side left, side right, back) for 4 sets. She got a tricep/chest workout from it herself ;)
After a week I used my harness with weights, and the 4 way neck machine at the gym. I think if I went straight to weighted excersize I would have had a lot of pain from overdoing it.

    Good luck.

I was thinking since i dont have a neck strap, i would do the exercises in the link i posted with weights, such as sitting on a bench, leaning over with a plate behind my head, and lifting my neck. ALso the side ones. Take it easy at first to find my limits and such, and go from there
