Me. Its why I still have all my old consoles. Its why I consider this gen from a games point of view as the weakest yet. I don't give a rats ass about tech demos or fancy gadgets. I want to sit on my couch with friends/family and just play some unique games. But from what I see from both Sony and MS that is to much to ask.

How can you not want to interact with NPCs in an RPG?

Or explore the world with Natal in a game like Myst?

When you talk with an NPC, you can really be evil/holy by the way you talk and look at them.

For example you could be really mean to an NPC and get them to back down and give you more information about a quest or money or anything.

It sounds good on paper, and it was really impressive, but in the end I don't think I'd sit there and talk to my TV for hours unless the game was really immersive.

It would be cool with Mass Effect, but I still think with something like voice recognition, it'll end up being a disappointment because everything still has to be preprogrammed.

Dont get me wrong i would be playing oblivion or fallout3 all fucking day if there they removed the "text choices" and you could have fullout livable conversations with the NPCs - that would be hot. But I guess i wasnt thinking of applying the tech like that.

What I dont want is for these tech demos to get so far ahead of themselves and then leave the masses disappointed in the long run.

Force feeding fans fancy words so that they can be educated and, in turn, socialize with more words than a 20 cent pimp?

:dunno: I don't know where I'm going with this.

there are times when it is appropriate, and there are times when it's not

talking about your opinion on a video game is not
