    w/ my ruger mkII .22lr...

my gf's mom is terrified of large bullfrogs in their backyard after it rains and she spotted one chilling on the outside of their kitchen window...she freaked....my gf's dad flushed it out of the general area by the house while i stood ready with the ruger....it jumped to the ground and i fired and hit it mid torso...i never saw so much blood and guts come from such a small amphibian....unfortunately it was still squirming slightly so i had to shoot it again and end its misery....i actually felt kinda bad....i dont typically dislike frogs but her mom is deathly afraid of em for some reason...

I've killed stuff I regretted later. It's a lesson a lot of us learn the hard way. Now I don't kill anything if at all possible (including bugs) - call me weird :dunno:

Ever target shot? Was it absolutely necessary to discharge your firearm?

Besides, squirrels are nature's own little moving targets ;)

lol i dont know about bull frogs, but where i am we have a MASSIVE cane toad problem (introduced back in th 70's and got outa control) but our humane method of controlling the numbers is golfculbs... i did resort to a garden fork once due to the sheer numbers that were in our yard after the rain though...

sounds like we have a few PETA members posting here tho :o

Why shoot it? Thats serious overkill. If you want it dead just stomp it or kick it away.

the way this thread is going, it should be interesting to see what it will be like when one of us posts about having to defend themselves with their firearm.

chances are if any of us have to shoot another human being in defense, it will not be discussed in any form (pending trial)

but i have to agree with the comment two posts up from here....after i shot the frog i thought to myself "why the fuck didnt i just wack it with a shovel"
It woulda been quieter and i wouldnt of had to waste ammo.
I told my girlfriend earlier ive been feeling really bad about killing it and she said "awww...you really are the sweetest guy ever arent you"
So i guess the fact i had remorse scored brownie points w/ her

getting off the subject here (flaming you) but when i lived in cali there were some big assed frogs there too and my bro in law would completely flip out when he saw one so we used to let them in the house on purpose. we even put one in his bathtub once.
