I know it has no practical use, but I mis-read that part and didn't realize it until I placed the order

I was just hoping that if needed, I can take it apart and gut the parts that limit capacity, but I guess that's out of the question.

    Because the faux-30rd mag doesn't look puss-tastic.

No, the bullet button allows evil features but you can't have a fixed mag that holds over 10 rounds. Featureless builds can use detachable regular capacity mags.

Wait, I thought you couldn't have anything over 10 round magazines in CA unless they are pre ban.

yeah, just because of that I might go MMG/Miculek brake/A1 stock on my CA-AR build (if/when I ever get around to actually doing it), so I can use my perfectly legal >10rd mags...

Basically a recessed mag release that you have to use a tool such as an unfired round, to operate.

i came across a bunch of high cap magazines manufactured in 5/91. are these legal for sale to CA residents because they're pre 2000, or does the law state that they have to be in CA prior to 2000.

The CA resident had to own them before the ban IIRC.

Parts kits are ok, you can sell someone in CA a disassembled mag it's on them to make it into a magazine.
