I'm kinda glad i got intel now. The only difficult part was understanding the accent.

What happens if i'm wrong about the motherboard being bad? (pretty sure i'm not since i can't get bios)

Next, recommend a new case for me, cause the one i've got is too damn hot!

    The one i have:

I don't wanna spend a shit ton of money...so keep that in mind...

    THank you for looking:big grin:

ah, didn't think that was a case. Thanks for the suggestion.

80$ is a bit steep. Anything good for $50ish?

For a good case that will last you 2 or 3 computers, $80 is cheap. A good case will have better airflow than a cheap case, be sturdier and have rolled steel/aluminum for the edges, where a cheap shitty case may really sharp corners that can cut wires or even you.

no idea what's wrong with it. It ran for 2 years fine, then i'm browsing OT and it dies on me. I get a green light on the mobo, that means the powersupply is fine, the hd works in another computer, so i just guessed it was the hard drive controller on the mobo or the mobo it self.

imho one of the best cases on the market. very solidly built. thick pannels. The entire front pannel is a vent for cooling with a giant filter behind it so no dust can get into the case. the only problem is the screw free connectors can be weak but they can be removed and have screws put in their place. 2 front usb, front hi def audio connections, and front firewire. plus at $45 it's a steal.

I took a killer deal on a silverstone, and I got a spare-parts special with mismatched surface quality and a loose USB door hinge.

I'd rather have a plastic fascia that looks good than a metal one that doesn't. I got the Gigabyte GZ-X1 case, myself. No complaints at all.
