I've never really been into comic books, much less read a single comic all the way through, but I just got the Planet Hulk series off of ED and I enjoyed it.

So OTCC, how can I get into comics? I suppose I need to find a local store, but what should I start reading?

Definitely find a local store. Find one with an enthusiastic owner that will listen and help you out.

    With that in mind:

    Captain America
    Green Lantern
    Green Lantern Corps
    Invincible
    The Walking Dead

    Great titles

In orlando you have a ton of shops

Theirs the Coliseum at Fashion Square mall
Big apple or whatever its called at university/436 (by lollicup)
Sci-Fi City on the corner of 50 and 436
And if it still exists there was a comic book store in the plaza next to rockys Replay

Thanks for the list. I will definitely have to check out the store over by lollicup.

I notice you're in Oviedo, I live there as well.

Now is there any sort of order I should go ahead and pick these up in? Any series? Or just pick up #1 and read on?

stick with trade paperbacks, or if you want you can leech off ED for the old issues on a few.

seems like the next logical step for you is WWH

after that stick with Marvel seeing as how it's 1000s of times easier to jump into than DC

Trade Paperbacks are always a good setup because you just get the whole thing all together

World War Hulk is the next step for you.

House of M is very very good

I'd also recommend Civil War and Road to Civil War but its a few books.

I already started WWH. It seems like the first few in the series kind of jump, and say the same damn thing. It's kind of confusing. I guess I'll finish those up then maybe take a look at House of M.

Look up characters you like on Wikipedia, find out where the stuff that looks interesting happened. That's how I got started..

Start from Rebirth to the current stuff, its not a whole lot. If you want less, just get the sinestro wars

Green Lantern and GL Corps are two of my favorite books right now. The new issue of Green Lantern comes out Wednesday and is going to be about as good as a jumping on point as it gets imo.
