Well I just pulled the grey pinstripes off my black Jetta, and now I need to somehow remove the adhesive residue, but I am not sure what to use and I really don't want to fuck my clearcoat up. Any recomendations?

You should be able to find an adhesive remover at your local autoparts store. You will have to rewax after using it.

I need to rewax anyway, probably going to handpolish my car as well.

Use an adhesive remover specifically made for automotive paint.

Bought some 3M adhesive remover, said it was safe for paint, and it worked quite well! All the residue came right off and my paint still looks ok. Going to need a good buffing overall though..Plus I found a problem on my rear passenger quarter panel....looks almost like it was resprayed and they used the pinstripe as a paint line because there is a definet ridge alone where the pinstripe was....

Should I just wet sand it with 1000grit?
