All the weights I struggled with last week came up so easily. Wasn't as winded after each set and felt like I could go on and on. I don't normally get a chance to hit the weights til 10pm but I never gave the time much though. Now I'm beginning when you lift might be one of the most important factors... up there with sleep and food.

cliffs: Hit the weights early before your CNS is fried throughout the day.

I wouldn't confuse eating with working out on your list of priorities, but morning is a great time. There was something about giving yourself an hour or so to let your spine recompress before doing squats or something though. Someone else should know.

Training in the morning is awesome for me, but I can't get up early enough to go before work or I'll never make it through the day.

My lifts are usually best in the afternoon. In the morning I don't have enough calories in my system to sustain endurance, by by late night my CNS is worn down and sometimes I can feel it.

It's going to suck when I start working full-time. I'll have to make a choice between going in the morning and waking up stupid early and not having much in my stomach... or going after work when I am mentally drained.

:werd: that's the boat I'm in. I leave work at 4, eat, nap for 20-30 mins, take a pre-wo supp and head to the gym. It's been working good for me, but still doesn't feel the same as going at like ~10am which I love.

Yeah, I think it's important for people who are serious about working out to live close/near their work.

Because lets say you work the typical 8-5. If you commute into a city to work that usually takes about an hour, or more depending if you drive/take the train. It ruins your day.

My buddy lives in the Chicago suburbs with his parents to save money since he just graduated college and started working full time (it's a good idea because he saves tons of money). But he works 8-5 and take a train to work... the train ride is about 50min.

Dude wakes up at 5:30 so he can catch a 6:30 train which gets in the city at 7:30. Then he walks about 1/2 mile to his work to get there by 8am.
He gets off work at 5pm and catches a 5:30 train home which arrives home around 6:30pm. He comes home, changes into his workout clothes, eats, relaxes for 30min to digest and by the time he gets to the gym it's 8pm. He gets home and showers and eats again. By now it's 10:30 and he needs to sleep.

What kind of life is that, lol? The sad part is, millions of people do it everyday. If you lived within walking distance or a very short drive from work you could add an extra 2 hours to your day nearly!

Well that's an argument for having a not-totally-insane commute.

I used to work 40 hours a week and go to school full time. I'd get out of class around 7:30, hit the gym, then get home around 10:00pm. After a shower and eating it was time to sleep.

I had to be so regimented in my schedule that if you'd given me a day of the week and a time, I could have told you what I was doing then. I was seriously either at work, at lunch, in class, in the gym, or sleeping.

Good thing I didn't have a girlfriend at the time :o

I'm the opposite... I'm stronger at night and my stamina is better. Not to mention there are way less people at the gym at night which is great.
