fuckin aye, that was awesome
That's all you have to say? Details...
I only got to do the one hour seminar, he went over the fine details of his favorite way to escape knee on belly and mount, and he detailed some stuff about grip for the armbar. He's really nice, and fucking amazing at jiu jitsu (of course).
Any chance that you could say anything about the grip or his escape. I know a lot of it is a "you had to see it" type of thing though. That would be great.
when someone has knee on belly, instead of going with the instinct to push the knee and shrimp away (which will get you choked) you tuck your arms and shrimp onto one side, but turn a little further onto your side than you would with a normal shrimp. this should cause them to move to mount. take your top arm and feed it under your chin and behind your bottom ear to block from any chokes from the back. straighten and turn your bottom leg so that your kneecap is going into the ground and your ball of your foot is on the ground. cross your top leg across your bottom leg, and strip their foot over your bottom leg, securing it in the crook of your knee. curl into a bit of a fetal position, bending your bottom leg and bringing your knee to your elbows, pushing under their knee. cross your bottom leg over their leg you have secured to continue to control it as you release with the leg you were holding with. turn onto your other side (you should be in half-guard now) and shrimp your other knee through their legs and secure guard position.
if your opponent, when they move to mount, does not hug his foot against your side (setting up for the previous technique) and instead puts his knee further out and outside your arm, there should be sufficient space to push away on the knee with your bottom hand and shrimp your top leg through. You can then either attempt to pull half guard, or you can do this crazy sweep that I didn't get the details of.
Thanks a lot bro.
I do what I can
