Yes, as soon as you are qualified to ref by ADCC and work a show you are banned from competition for life.

    HAH HAHAHA

    you're very funny.

If soeone has a relationship with a competitor they do not ref that person's fight.

I'd say don't do it. You might never compete for them but at least you'd always have that option.

I fail to see why it would be so difficult for you to give up competition....

Could be beneficial to have on a resume, especially since you said previously that you would like to get into helping with movies, etc, stuff like that. :dunno: I would do it in your position.

Ben I am not one of the people here who hate or troll you, but I don't see you competing in ADCC anytime soon anyways

Plus you could use the cash

Only thing I could think of is you'd become friends with the referee's and that could create a conflict of interest if you compete plus you'd be an employee. May not be why but that's all I can think of.

A legitimate concern would be your need for some remedial English lessons.

Without sounding mean, the chances of you competing in ADCC are slim to none, and you can always still compete in other major BJJ tournaments. The contact and resume building from this, however, would be awesome.

What if you just masturbate in the shower thinking about one or more of the competitors? Do you have to disclose that up front?

Be honest here. Do you have the potential to ever place in abu dhabi? Because realistically, just the opportunity to compete isn't worth passing this up. More people probably compete at ADCC than ref. Reffing could wind up being something you do for the rest of your life. It could be a career. You never know what's coming down the pipe. You never know.

Good point. The contacts can also help build your future. Get in.

I understand at this point in time my shot of even getting in is minimal, but who knows what the future holds.

I had a shot in 05 to ref when I was still super active and turned it down cause I would be stoked to compete.

Looking at the brackets I would be in if I had the opportunity to even compete in itself is daunting.

I'll likely take the ref position if the offer is still open when I get back to my contact, but I don't want to be kicking myself in the ass in 5 years or something you know?

So you;re basically saying I suck and I should jump on the chance to work with ADCC.......

    MAN that really stung......

The contacts I would gain would only be like 4 or 5 people I'm already pretty well contacted with alot of the higher ups.
