So i ordered like 2 dozen mags the other day, and it just happens that they ran out like yesterday, so it was the last ones they'll get for a while, maybe even before a ban, if ever, sets in.

So i was going through, and really hoping for a Fleur, and i got one. I couldn't believe it. Though now that i have it, i don't know if i'll sell it, or hold on to it and sell it later.

Other than it's known modern value, what is the story behind them?

I got a couple, I'm holding on to them. I had 2 more but I traded them for a waffle.

i got 6 waffles 3 bakelites 2 slabsides and a bunch of other russians though, so its almost ok... ive made over 1000 profit off selling "rare" mags alone.

    im not bitter.

i hated the waffles, they were almost TOO good to use... they were so light fully loaded... huge difference in weight. i got rid of all mine, id never use them.

As far as construction, Slabsides > any other mag. You could run a slabside over with a tank and the bitch will still function. As far as rarity goes some styles weren't produced in great numbers and not many made it into the U.S. Soviet waffles for example weren't made for that long of a period of time and before SG started bringing in all the surplus mags from the yugo war you never saw them in the U.S. same with the Fleur's and a few others, 7.62 bakelites have always been a bit on the rare side about 4 years ago they were going for $250+ more have come in now and the price has dropped quite a bit.

Fleurs depending on condition are worth about $65+ now, Soviet waffles about $80+, bakelites still vary alot depending on country and factory code $40-$100+, slabsides $30+

If I could own every different example of an AK there was I would, since I cann't Im settling for the mag's :o

Why doesn't someone just start producing waffles in the US since they're apparently so nice?

I think promag is only U.S. company making AK mag's, copies of the bulgie waffles I believe. I don't know how profitable it would be to tool up to make AK mag's when for the most part there so cheap already.

because the US couldnt manufacture a decent ANYTHING if it tried. most everything made in the us is crap.

promags, crap... domestic cars, crap(there are exceptions) plus, we have unions and bullshit that drives the cost through the roof. a slabside constructed mag would run in the neighborhood of 70+ dollars.

for example, look at the faggots making the 10rd saiga mags... those dickheads charge 60 bucks a pop, and there aint shit to it, they feed like crap and you have to MODIFY A FUCKING STOCK MAG.

First production run had shitty feed lips. Most people cannabilized the lips from the five rounders. AGP changed suppliers, and the second gens have been mostly trouble free, from what I see on the boards. They also sent out the new feed lips free to all the first gen buyers. :dunno:
