I just bought this (now pick it apart)

    based on input from here on my suggested gateway thread. Some people didn't like the resolution of the screen and suggested I upgrade the battery so I did that and decided on ordering a dell. My budget was 600 and I went over a little. Here are the stats. PS this will not be a gaming PC or anything.

    the only thing I don't like is the 5400rpm hard drive, but the rest looks decent.

    Dunno why he'd care what OT thinks, but I understand why he wants my opinion, so here it is:

    1. Black is a feature?
    2. Put a faster hard drive in there as soon as you get the chance.
    3. Uninstall the WildTangent shit.
    4. Install OpenOffice since you didn't get MS Office. It works just as well.
    5. Replace the 30-day trial of McAfee with Avast! Antivirus Home Edition; it's free online.
    6. It only has a 100Mb/s network card? Put an Intel 1Gb/s network card in there if you're not going to be using wireless.

    Other than that, it looks good.

    That's something I've never understood, people go out and buy something then ask for an opinion :ugh:
