how happy am I going to be when it gets here? :x:

This coming from a person that's been using the kit lens with an XT.

you'll get annoyed that it's not wider, but you'll like the sharpness

My next prime will probably be a 24 f/2.8 and then an 85 f/1.8.

    I've got prime lust. :o

I love my 50mm 1.8, very sharp, but it does limit you because it's a prime. The next lens I'll be buying is a 70-200mm 2.8.

I like mine, but I haven't put it on the camera on a long time. The slow focusing is annoying, but it works.

Still a great lens for the money.

Even for those who complained on it being prime.......you can't touch the quality for the price. Gotta sacrifice something for a nice piece of glass that cheap.....

I really dropped the quality in this pic so I could post it on a few message boards........but this is a shot @1.8......

i figure it'd be a nice, cheap upgrade from the kit lens. Especially since I take a lot of low light photography and want to start doing portraits.

Definately a must buy for anyone. Great for being creative with DOF, sharp as fuck, and a life saver when its low light and you don't wanna use flash.

    It's too long in a way though, I'd prefer a 35mm
