I joined a gym...

    I have an appointment with a personal trainer tomorrow :noes:

    Last February I started watching my food intake and started doing cardio at home on a treadmill and elliptical....I've dropped 40 pounds since then. :bigok: I can now fit pants with a 36 inch waist, down from the 42's I used to wear.

    So I'm taking the next step and I'm going to start weight training. I just want to be healthy. :bigok: The stickies at the top have been very helpful, and made me realize that cardio alone won't do the trick.

    I'm too embarassed to post pics right now....let's just say I'm 30% BF right now :noes:

    anyway, the trainer I worked with was pretty cool. He used to be fat too, and understand the temptations I'm dealing with every day. We just talked, took some measurements, discussed goals, and then I hopped on an elliptical for 15 minutes. He wanted to see how my heart rate was after a few moments...good thing I've been using a treadmill and elliptical for the last few months :bigok:

    Tomorrow we're meeting again so I can learn how to do the weight machines. I really want to do this, and make myself healthy for me and my family....even though I know I'm gonna be hurting for a while.

    sounds like a decent trainer. at least he listens, and has transformed his body. he'll be able to help u more than anyone imo.

    dont worry about the body fat %, we've all seen it.

    also, machines are nice for some things. but make sure you get plenty of freeweight exercises.
