dosnt go up to 170. he looked awesome at 155
I was impressed, but I think he will. He's got a new mentality it seems. Hopefully he will be well conditioned at 170.
Thats the skinniest we've seen BJ in years, YEARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
it was the most in shape he has looked...he could kill the 155 division, he should win that belt then move up
not really, but he looked pretty good. If this is the new BJ like he said I wouldnt be suprised to see him coming into his next fight in even better shape.
His stand up is what always suprises me, I almost think he has absolutely zero fear of being hit, even after getting clocked and it gives him a much better focus on his feet and a much fast counter for a guy that isnt known for fast striking.
well i dont he will ever be cut up or anything and coming in at 170 it seems he would have to put on weight...but ill rephrase its the best shape he has come in at ... since his layoff from the ufc
In for rubbmatch and domination of Hughes at 170.
watching hughes face when bj sunk in that RNC was great
he said he weighs about 160 when he's in good shape, if he moves up he'll just fight light. he walks around at 175 when he's fat/out of shape. i don't see him packing on 10 lbs of lean muscle anytime soon unless he get on the juice, which i don't see him doing. he'll come in and fight at 160ish and still dominate the 170 division.
Here, watch the whole fight. Hughes makes several GREAT faces towards the end of the fight.
Yeah it was great!!!
Someone should ask him how come he wasn't saying "that's my fight!, that's my fight!" and laughing at Jens.
yeah i wanted to see him and pulver stay at 155 o well
Pulver is way light to be at 155.
I don't see him putting on any weight because I don't see him wanting to be in the gym lifting on top of everything else. It seems like his main weakpoint has been that he doesn't want to work on his conditioning, and lifting isn't going to be any easier for him and isn't 100% necessary.
I like BJ at 155 because it FORCES him to keep in great shape to make the weight... He certainly can't over indulge on burritos and still make it! He really owned Puliver... I was very happy to see him back in the winning track!
BJ should stay at 155. He fights harder and has more gas in his tank.
At the same time, I was impressed by how classy he was with JP at the end of the fight.
Sorta classy though. He held that RNC a little long.
I don't think he saw it, his head was in his hands.
I noticed that too.
Could have been accidental - did he tap BJ or the mat?
I get tunnel vision sometimes when I roll.
BJ held on even when the ref first stepped in. He knew what he was doing.
And I'm glad he did it.
penn needs to get outta hawaii also
the low elevation kills his cardio so when he comes to fight in the states makes him gas super quick
It would help if he moved out of hawaii, but there's good fighters from Fla. as well.
Las Vegas is only 2178 feet above sea level.
i doint think its the elevation, its the lack of cardio work. and you dont need to move for that, he is filthy rich, he could just install one of those pressure chamber thingies.
