What do you guys think of the lighting in these 3 pictures?

Why the boxes? Not my work, and no consent from the subject.

I am fairly certain that I could take better portraits than these and I want to approach to individual with a proposal to do so. I know her, went to school with her, and think these pictures are retardedly blown.

However, I like to be realistic, so I seek you r opinions on the matter.

Do you think the lighting is right in them?

Thank you. Any comment on the lighting?

I really do not want to have to endure posting this at the Cafe for honest answers.

yes, the lighting is not great. A bit overexposed. The setting where the shots were taken are not the best either, although the second pic isn't that bad.

#1, her skin is way too pale

#2 is way too overexposed, her lips and forehead are way too blown out, no contrast in it.

#3, her teeth are way too blown out, her hair is casting a shadow giving her face a strange contour

only thing i would think about is does she think the photos are good? Some people really like the "whiter" look, lol. It tones the skin blemishes.

That is what I thought as well.

#2 is a good pose, I think, but severely over-exposed.

    Awesomeness.

    .

    I agree with everything above

you can fix skin blemishes better in PS than you can by just over exposing things with harsh lighting

personally, i like lighter/whiter portraits, but those are too overexposed for my tastes. they are overexposed to the point of loosing a lot of details.

looks like a preset/action that defines their style. Jessica Strickland has a similar but more colorful version. it works much better on lighter skinned people

Im sure you can purchase the photos without the boxes. I grew up very poor. All my school photos have Proof on in the middle of them. Im sure the photog show these as samples.
