err tell him to keep playing sports and come back to you in 3 years.. 11 seems really young to start working out?

11 is pretty young. are you actually willing to help? you probably are, but i bet your thinking "damnit, now this kid is gonna bother me and make me lose gym time".

unless you work at this gym?

and isnt there a policy where if your under 18, you must be accompanied by an adult (my gym does). maybe its diff global

explain proper diet and show him the cardio section. lifting weights at 11 is probably going to be harmful to his development.

Go out and play sports with the kid. I can't imagine seeing an 11 year old kid at the gym. Find him some friends to play games with or be a friend to him and just hang out and have good times. Kids are fun.

yeah, i'm sure his parents would love a weird random older guy "hanging out" with their kid on a regular basis.

seriously, if you have to ask OT then your not the person who should be giving him advice anyway. point him in the direction of a fairly brolified nice seeming guy in the gym instead. or are you really the 11 year old looking 4 help?:eek3:

He posts on offtopic, get him away!

Aye, just tell him to get out more and stop eating the crap I'm sure his parents are feeding him.

nothing wrong with letting him hang out at the gym, do some cardio, and get more involved in the fitness mindset.

THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH LIFTING WEIGHTS AT 11 YEARS OLD PEOPLE.

Just show him a basic routine 3 sets of 8-12 and teach him good form and let him have at it.

joining a team sport when you're a tub of fat isn't gonna make you friends.. prolly just depress you more.

tell him about dieting, give him some simple exercises to do (db curls, shrug, db squats, crunches, pushups etc etc), teach him how to do some cardio.

tell him if he really wants to change his body he has to change his lifestyle. there's no way around it. stuffing urself full every meal isn't going to get you to lose weight.

If I could change something in life, it'd be lifting earlier. If it'd be ok to lift at an early age, I'd have been all for it.
