I thought that I was old enough not to fall into this trap again. At least this time I recognize that my fixation is not healthy or practical. I need to shut up that adolescent that is still in my heart.

Sorry, I'm always quite vague. I've known a chick for 18 months and on Tuesday I had to work with her at my part-time college job for an hour. We weren't that busy so we chatted for that time.

When I first met her 18 months ago I had a fixation/one-itis with her. I never approached her about it, or tried to befriend her. Since I believe I have SAD I'm sure she didn't think to highly of me. We were nothing but acquaintances. With all of the girls I had one-itis on I followed the following sequence of steps.

    1. Meet her and become fixated on her.
    2. Dream of her being perfected and believing that she is a 10. With that I get of sorts of "nice guy" day dreams.
    3. Spend weeks to months obsessing about her (continuation of step #2).
    4. Eventually become angry at them for no reason
    5. After #4 they drop off the radar

Until two days ago I was at #5 but would resort back to #3 when I saw her. However, now I'm back at #2 and want to skip back to step #5.

That would end very badly. I need to find some new prospects but will end up developing one-its again. Every girl I see I get the same thought in my head, "Oh, my god, you are the one...marry me."

Woooo....slow down....That's why it is a good idea to TRY and take things slow. You really don't get to KNOW someone until the "honeymoon" phase of the relationship is over. And besides, even if you do end up finding "the one" there is still no need to rush into marriage. Trust me, marriage isn't all it is cracked up to be and I made a mistake once. I plan on making ABSOLUTELY sure that my bf IS "the one" before I walk down that isle again.
