My computer is almost full. The 3.5" bays are stuffed with an SATA RAID, the card slots are filled with a GeForce 6600, WiFi, a sound card, and the RAID controller, and one of the two 5.25" bays is occupied by a DVD burner.

What is the single coolest, most useful thing I could put into my last remaining 5.25" bay?

Oh damn, thats nice. You should start smoking and drinking black coffee just to use that thing, if you already don't.

that would be cool if it had a mini coffee maker. or if you had a water cooled set up. use the return water to keep your coffe warm.

I do, actually. But I never smoke inside. I suppose I could use the cigarette lighter socket to run the car charger for my cellphone, though.

    Anybody else got any ideas?

Then get a high volume charcoal/HEPA filter for your desk and blow the smoke into it.

Why bother? Then I don't get to go outside.

Isn't there ANYTHING, perhaps an actual computer part, that I could install in the last drive bay I have available? It doesn't have to be inexpensive.

Well you could put a dvd rom in there to save some of the wear and tear on your burner.

that cup holder was "cool" back in 1999... Then it lost it's coolness shortly there-after.

If you want a challenge, try to fillup all the 5.25" bays in my CM Stacker :mamoru:

You know what would be a nice addition? A sandbox.

I don't mean like a miniature retractable Zen garden, I mean like a mini PC fitted into the drive bay that I could use to offload some of the load from the main CPU.

How I would get it to act like a second CPU instead of a completely separate computer is anyone's guess, though.

Or just run a dual cpu rig, but then that wouldn't use up the spare bay...

You could just have a drop down front panel on it, and use it to store munchies.

I think you should make a little cookie oven, like an easy bake with a lightbulb. Then cook cookies in there. Just one or two at a time.

    heh.

I might have to, now. Think I can run a heater coil off a 12V power feed? Ah, fuck it, I've got three Raptors in there, they make more than enough heat.

Dude... google easy bake. You can use a lightbulb. Just insulate a metal box and insert.

Anyone got ideas on a good insulating material?

How bad ass would it be to have someone over, and they smell cookies and you sit down at your computer and go, "Mmmmm cookies are done!" and you pull out a little tray and hand them a fresh baked cookie and have one yourself with some milk in a mini fridge next to your PC?
