so last wednesday i was on my way home from a friends house, getting on the highway, at normal speeds, and all of a sudden the revs spike, then drop back down, i take the car out of gear (manual) and turn off the ignition. i coast to the next exit, but i cant make it all the way off, so i have to turn the car back on, and drive it into the neighborhood...WOW, was it loud, and there was such an aweful knock sound coming from the engine.

i get out, and notice a huge drip line of oil where i rolled the car. i open the hood and there is smoke coming out of the back side of the engine. look down on the sides, and oil is EVERYWHERE! I found a few pieces of metal sitting on the steering rack. this is what it was

I jacked up the car, to see what i could find...

After looking around with my flashlight for a few minutes, i finally found ONE of the holes. this is on the drivers side, right underneath the exhaust manifold. you can KIND of see the connecting rod in there.

SO I have started taking apart the engine, because my friend wont be here to help me until next weekend.

:( I have found an engine though, for $500, and I am going to install it myself....

What do you think caused it to snap a rod?

When I told my friend about, he was like, "SWEET DUDE, IVE ALWAYS WANTED A VENTILATED CRANKCASE!!"

So that was kind of funny.

I should take it to acura, and tell them to fix it...those assholes.

I hope its not too expensive to get this done, I do not think im going to try it myself, im not that good yet. + i can only work on it 3 days a week, and its my daily driver...

anyone know a good import shop in tulsa, oklahoma?
