I used to drink quite often, sometimes every day even after training :uh: but recently decided to stop that nonsense..

    My findings so far:

    Good:
I recover about a day faster than usual
    I have made 5 PR's since
I do not have a cloudy head even on days that im sober

    Bad:
I cant seem to sleep properly - and getting drunk would sometimes be my only way to get to sleep even though i know the quality of sleep when on booze is shit
i am a boring motherfucker and going out with my friends is not as fun :hs:

isn't there some supplements that help you sleep better? like melatonin or ZMA? I haven't tried either but it might be worth looking into

Also drunk sleep is not as restorative as normal sleep. I don't think your brain can go into a certain brain wave that you need - nvm i just saw you mentioned that

I've been alcohol free for 2 days :o

I wish I had your commitment, but college owns me right now. I know the pain of going to bars sober, you don't have to completley stop drinking, maybe just tone it down? I tend to drink only on weekends and once on the weekend at that, everything in moderation :dunno:

Ive been alcohol free since new years. And before that, since september. Sucks balls socially, but definitly worth it otherwise.

I'll likely be alcohol free this entire summer due to working abroad, I'm gonna see how things go, you notice a significant difference when you stopped drinking?

started to try valerian root (google it) but same deal, doesnt do shit

I have had sleeping problems for a long time now but unfortunately i dont see any fix as it was damage done to my brain from :noes: :noes: :noes: :noes: :noes: :noes: a 2 year binge

been seeing docs about it for a few years , probably 10 or so different visits, even went to a shrink at one point..

the only things that work seem to be sleeping pills because they blur my thinking and allow the brain to shut down..

I just lie there and think about things too much, my heart rate seems to rise instead of slow down - just cant switch off the brain when i goto bedq

I used to drink 4-6 days/week. I've toned it down to 1-2..and only on the weekends. I feel much better in general.

pretty :hs: - the reason i have to take drugs to get to sleep is most likely because of drugs i took that kept me awake

Not drinking sucks so much. :wtc: I've got to date again so I think I'm going to be forced to. I get too uptight and can't close the deal otherwise!

I noticed when I quit drinking my gains seemingly went berzerk and I swear my sex drive got even higher, if that's possible.

take it from me c4, unless you're thinking of seriously seriously taking up the oly lifting, still drink on the weekends. Stop the booze on the weekdays and training days, but otherwise chill bro.

Hey C4 out of curiosity where abouts are you from?

I live in Surry Hills atm but might be heading to newcastle to chase some work soon. May as well ask what gym you hit too but don't post if you think I'm potential stalker. I'm at fitness first have been for a few years so cheap rates + convenience of passport m'ship has me hooked.
