So my boss at work today approached me to team up with him and another guy to put together this php/oracle driven website. No issues with the coding as I've done this before, but he doesn't want to pay me, he wants myself and the other guy to earn a percentage of what the site brings in. He was also quoted by a web firm of $50k for the job.

Honestly I do not want to get involved without real payment as there is no guarantee it will be able to beat out the competition and start earning money. On the other hand I don't want my decision to affect my day job since he is my boss.

    you thoughts?

site design and coding - me
oracle back end - other guy
    marketing/manage - my boss

I've had no problem telling bosses that I'm not interested in doing design on the side.

That's such a saturated market it hurts. Even if you come out with a baller product, there are so many entrenched companies via contracts and connections you won't be able to actually get the product out.
