Per the suggestion of DELL, I did a windows repair with the XP cd. Now the computer won't boot...just keeps restarting, even in safe mode where it can't find a file a347bus.sys, and d346bus.sys....then it reboots....and goes through all the same crap again.

    Any ideas?

Copy the files it's missing to a floppy from a working computer, then copy them over to your computer through DOS. It's messy but it works (at least it worked when I did it on some Win 98 machines at work).

But, yeah, format and reinstall is the best idea.

If you're missing any Files using the Recovery Console the correct way should resolve it, But Reformat and Restore is the Way to go!
