MMA I had a 300 lb guy bellyflop on me while going guard pass drills today

    there was this kinda sickening set of pops deep in my lower back, fuckin aye that shit hurts now. just when it was starting to get better :rant:

    thats why i dont like to train with much larger sparring partners too often. it'll really affect your lower back if youre a guard player

    couldn't agree with you more. my lower back is ALWAYS hurting, its ridiculous.

    I already have a pretty bad lower back. and yeah I'm definately a guard player.

    Stop showering for a day or two before you roll.

    You'll find people won't want to stay in your guard and screw your back up.

    Seriously, I have lower back problems and one thing I find that actually helps is to sleep on the floor for a night or two. The really firm surface just seems to help me straighten out. Hot shower in the morning and some light stretching and I feel much better.

    actually, what happened was, he was getting tired, and started just standing up in my guard, flopping my legs aside, and falling down on me.

    christ almighty.

    I also at one point took his back, and he rolled on top of me to escape, so my torso was supporting his whole bodyweight. talk about hard to breathe.

    my whole back is cussin me now.

    the best possible strategy with gigantic guys is to put them on their back. they have very limited mobility

    I agree, It doesn't matter what position. As long as they are on their back.

    yeah we were just drilling though, although at once point I did sweep him just because he sacrificed his base too much.

    huge guys need to step back sometimes and realise that you are 100lbs lighter than they are

    latching onto my head and almost breaking my neck is not going to do any of us much good so please quit it.

    We were drilling taking the back from the mount and I was working with this huge kid, and part of the drill was for the bottom person to come up to their knees and the person on top does the rnc.Well the kid didnt didnt know the rnc so he was trying to learn it will crushing my damn back.I finally just rolled over cause my back hurt so bad
