but when I shoot in RAW+jpeg in the D300, the shutter releases at a slower rate than it does just on jpeg. I was taking some pictures of my son today and the whole time I thought there was something 'wrong' w/ the camera although the shutter speeds were in the 1250+ (I was trying to test it...)

My dumbass just came home tonight after thinking about this the whole day, put the camera on jpeg and it started firing off like I remember it.

Someone post quote me and put a :slap: smilie in it.

Frame rate shouldn't suffer between RAW and jpg. I never shoot jpg, but just tried it out and didn't see a difference in CL or CH. Did you happen to change your your BIT depth from 12 to 14?

    since I rarely use a P&S, when I take random pics I don't bother w/ RAW.

I guess I changed something unknowingly. I'll have to go through and see what I did. :dunno:

That's probably what it is. I tried it at 14 bit and the frame rate dropped quite a bit.

Thats actually exactly what it was. It was set at 6fps on jpeg and dropped to 2.5fps in RAW. Now here's the question... I know where it is on the menu, but how can it be changed w/ out actually going in there, because I KNOW I didn't go in there and change it. :dunno:

I have a relatively big nose, and I find myself changing settings all the time (and usually for the worse :wtc: )

one thing that pisses me off is when I change lenses, I hit the focus lever all the time, either to manual or continuous. Either way it doesn't beep and when I first did it, it pissed me off so much, I put the camera down and calmed myself.

I have a short temper and very little patience.
