I'm told I need physical therapy.

I talked to an aquaintence tonight who used to be in PT.

He told me I first need to get Range of Motion back. The therapist will move my hand etc... first vertically till i get my ROM back, then horizontally till I get my ROM back. He told me there will be a large painful pop, thats OK. Its just the scar tissue being broken down (which is water soluble) and it will be absorbed back into my body over time. Imediately after the pop I will get alot of motion back.

After ROM therapy I can start strengthening. I am to be sure NOT to start strengthening before ROM is regained because it will make it harder to get ROM back.

He said ROM will take roughly 6 weeks and strengthening for 4 and THEN I can go back to training.

    That is mother fucking depressing!

I had a cast before, and didn't need therapy for it! (granted I was 7)

I'm really fuckin unhappy about this! I can't even start therapy till my insurance clears! I'm sitting on my ass doin what I fucking can already for 8 weeks! FUCK MAN! FUUUUUCK! Son of a bitch!

I'm really bummed out. I just want to train! GOD DAMN IT!

Hillary is comin to ATT, I'm supposed to get my ass kicked by her and now I dunno if I can do it. If its worth the risk. He said I could re-break it, or cause damage to it.

    Its fuckin infuriating.

    Its quite depressing.

    I'm sorry for my rant.

That sucks man but what ever you do be patient and recover fully before doing too much. Im still paying for my shoulder dislocation because I went back too soon its aout 75% as strong as my right in any weights also gives me alot of pain if I sleep on it wrong only way to fix it is to get a reconstruction.

 just take it slow, you'll thank yourself when you are properly healed in a few weeks instead of being re-injured.

I know it's tough, though, man. :hs:

I will be healing don't worry.

We'll work something out even if its just positions. I'm sure our gyms do much different things no gi. As for the Gi, shit I've had it on 5 times in 3 years or so I'm sure you can show me plenty.

Good luck and take care of the paw.
Sticking with the PT once it starts (it's tedious and takes a long time) will do you better than starting too early

I think I'll go in get shown some stuff then be given a home program to do on my own.

I dunno, I doubt I'd be able to break the scar tissue myself. I'm also afraid I'd hit a doc, just moving it right now is quite painful i couldn't imagine pushing it past its limits.

i had a pretty bad break in my arm a long time ago. i hit the doc when he had to set it back in place before they put a cast on. that was one of the most painful things i have ever felt. it was just a natural reflex. PT isn't sooo bad either. It makes you feel better when you start to really notice that whatever is hurt is getting back to full strength.
