For those of you who missed the thread :)

    http://forums.offtopic.com/showthread.php?t=1917822&page=1&pp=25

Now you guys all have to help me figure shit out with this thing.

    Okay, some questions:

    1) How do you delete programs
    2) How do you add programs to the dashboard thingy
    3) If you drag one off the dashboard thingy will it be deleted?
    4) If not to previous question then how could I get it back (addy book for ex.)
    5) Where do you see the system specs
    6) I bought a 60 GB HDD and I have 40 GB left, wtf!!! (statement, not a question)
    7) How do you paste, copy, highlight all, etc. in mac with the keyboard? (in windows it was like ctrl + v, c, a, etc.)

I'll have more questions and I'll post in here when i do.

Thanks mac crew, I'm happy I made the switch from PC :)

P.S. JolleyOrgie or w/e theres no flex, kthxbye. :)

    1) you just delete the folder, no need to run through shitty uninstall processes.
    2) Drag the icon to the dashboard and it'll add it
    3) think of hte dashboard as the start menu... they're all shortcuts.
    4) see question 2
    5) Click on the Apple in the top left and its one of the options... I'm at work now and don't have my PB with me.
    6) :werd:
    7) Apple+V, Apple+C, Apple+A. -- Basically anything you do with Ctrl+ in windows, you can do with Apple+ on a mac

    I see...

    Okay couple more questions:

    1) WTF is the automator
    2) How do you "auto arrange" icons in the application folder
    3) In FireFox, where is the options menu

use safari man, it has everything firefox has and then some. tabbed windows, pop-up blocker, and rss reader built right in.

edit: automator is like a program that allows you to batch work processes. like resizing pictures, adding things to libraries, renaming things, etc. you will just have to play with it to really get the gist of how powerful it is.

    uhhh hhuh...

ok well how do you auto arrange filesin the app. folder.

and how do i install winrar? It doesnt seem to be working, when I open the downloaded mac winrar file, it extracts into a folder with some things in it, then I dunno what to do. I try putting the whole folder into the app list but no go.

edit~ nvm, its a cmd thing. Okay do you know of any other programs that allow you to extract .rars?

get stuffit expander standard version 9.0. its free and opens every kind of compressed file imagineable. it used to be just for mac, but now i think there are pc versions too.

as for auto arranging files, just click in the finder window where the apps are and select view/viewoptions.. or view/clean up..

if you want to change the way the toolbar looks in finder, just open a new finder window and hit view/customize toolbar..

hope that helps, and im serious about the safari thing. its a good browser. :naughty:

oh, also if you want to improve the looks of safari a little you can go to http://www.resexcellence.com/safari/user_safari_02.shtml and download safaqua 1.1. it drastically improves safaris appearance. :wiggle:

    How? Promotion or their mistake?

    :coold:

I think 768mb of ram will be enough for what I'll be using this for... I gotta get over the fact that I may have just fucked myself over on a later version of the ibook when the newest version is rumored to be coming out in the next week :wtc:

Probably. Although current iBooks are already better than many other notebooks that are available... except for PowerBooks of course... :)
