    This happened sunday
Basically i was going on a green light a the old lady lady made left turn and didnt see me. WE both slammed on the brake so no one was hurt.
still, my car an 88 cadilac is pretty much totaled.

I called my insurance and they told it sounds like it not your fault and you dont have collision damage, so were not paying for your car. then i called the lady's insurance and they told me that she made a report and they'll call me a couple of days.

I have never been in a car accident so i dont know what to do next. HOw can i get the most money for my car from her insurance? If anyone has ever been in a simular situation, please tell me what happens next and what do i need to do and not to do?

from my experience, the insurance company handles everything.

they do the investigation, go to the accident scene, all that. then if your car is totalled they give you a fair value for it. i was surprised we got so much for ours. it was a 89 pontiac grand am. we bought it for $700. the insurance company gave us $2000. i was quite surprised. we only had liability, but it was the other couple's fault in the accident.

anyway, i know that i called several times to see if there was anything that they needed from me or anything that i could do. and they just told me that the insurance guys were handling it and would send me a letter or give me a call.

it took 2 weeks from the accident to getting the check. all i did was give them the initial report of what occurred.

    good luck. :)

If the flash as an accurate depiction of what happened, the 78 year old is 100% at fault, she turned left, whilst in the right lane, on a two-way street without stopping. Sue the bitch. :)

also make sure that you clear it with your insurance company. even though they wouldn't cover it and that there is a zero payout, they may still input that into the system and then if you decided to leave companies, your rates may be higher because of something that wasn't your fault. now by all means, this is based upon your side. not to say that you're wrong, i'm just saying.
