i put my K&N FIPK on ($free) from my old truck, it already has a flowmaster cat back($free), just got some clear corners ($35)

    so im thinkn

    beltech 2-4'' drop
lower profile tires (something cheep, like some factory take offs)
delete the hood emblem with some bondo (or some kinda putty) and cover it with a satin black hood stripe (vinal decal)
    get a painted grill
paint the wheels black (?) (yes i am aware that it will look like the motorsports edition but, whatever.. :o)

i guess it was never equip'd with a limited slip? so im debating on putting a aubrun gear LSD in it (which would suck up all thats left after the above mods and then some) or spread that cash else where? like a rear sway bar? paint the bumper cap/door handles/tailgate handle and mirrors (red)? or a roll pan? or a bed cover (which is gonna happen now or when we get our $600 checks from the gov.) i miss having cargo space i can close.

    photoshoppin'

    Making a muscle truck?

I'd skip the clear indicators and paint the mirrors body color instead. Then see if Mopar makes anything worthwhile to get some power out of the engine.

Man, a drop, LSD, and a rear sway bar? I bet you'll be cornering as hard as El Caminos.

    basicly.

well i was figuring that theres no point to power unless you can put it down, so thats why im leaning towards a LSD? that and i already have the clear indicators they were cheep, didnt even have to dip into the grand for that. as far as power i was thinkn of just gettin a ECU programer? the power right now doesnt bother me casue im not racing it and it gets up and moves as is, but ya it'd always be nice to have more :)

ive had one of these before with all that (minus sway bar) and you would be suprised at how well they handle, might have something to do with the positive offset (which is a pain for buying wheels) plus its a daily driver not a le mans race car.

its not a rocket ship but its enough to get you in trouble, and to make the drive to work that much more fun

the only thing that sucks is it leans in the corners like a greyhound bus and everytime i step on it the rear passanger tire spins like its on ice...

:o problems im tryn to eleminate...

I'd say save for engine mods or go with the LSD. The photoshopped pic actually looks pretty good.

One of AZ Crew has a 2WD 4.7 Ram with a manual and it moves surprisingly well. I'd certain do the suspension first.

I agree. Color-match the black bits (mirrors and upper bumper) first. Maybe the grille too, but I don't really mind the chrome one. Then toss in some bolt-on mods. If you don't put tall stuff in the bed very often, get one of those hard tonneaus, but don't expect your mileage to increase because of it -- the aerodynamics are actually better when the bed is open and the rear hatch is closed.

    So my drop kit arived...

when it got here the box was trashed, there was clear tape and paper tape everywhere. it looked like a 3yr taped it, when i opened it the box in the middle was already open, the shock boxes were trashed and when i looked at one of the springs it was chipped up??

so i called summit, i wasnt really pissed becasue its not going on a show truck and its just suspention parts so they dont need to look good. but i was asking the guy about it and he said the clear tape was not their's so what were guessing is the box opened in his truck and the parts rolled around till he got here. which would explane the chip...

so im alil concerned that my parts were bouncing around enough in his truck to chip a steel spring? so long story short it the guy at summit said it sounds like a shipping claim and that they'll send me a new one but its on backorder now and its gonna take like 24 days :ugh:... and i gotta hold onto this box for UPS to come out and look at it...:o

this fuckn sucks.. fuckn UPS :squint:

They are shock absorbers. I guarantee they will see more abuse than that once attached to your truck. Make sure all the parts are still there, touch up the paint with nail polish, and get on with it.

  21. I dont know, I mean shock absorbers are designed to take that abuse a certian way, not just rolling bouncing around it the back of the truck. I'd be pissed. I dont buy shit so someone in shipping can not give a shit and throw it around.

lemme put it to you this way.. i could have bought a used kit for about $100 less.. but i figured hey why dont i buy something brand new for once, i mean this is the shit that holds my truck up might as well start fresh. im pretty sure if you paid $470 and when it got here it was all beat to shit youd be pissed too.

If it weren't going to take 3.5 weeks to get a replacement, I'd report it too. But if there's no visible damage (paint doesn't really matter), and if it's going to take almost a month, why bother? The springs are effectively indestructible, and the dampers are strong enough to withstand bouncing around -- they might be designed to absorb forces from certain directions, but they're not made of tissue paper, the parts have plenty of strength to handle off-axis impacts.

Anyway, they're certainly not used; if you opened those dampers, there wouldn't be any wear on the internals. Internal wear what makes dampers go bad, not getting knocked around.

you dont get it, the coil springs are NOT painted there is a chip in the metal. how the hell do you chip a steel spring? if so i just paid full price for that, also if this was knocking around in the back of his truck what if i lost washers nuts bolts? who knows? dude look at the pictures agian or watch the video that was not worth 500 bucks.

the wait is gonna suck but id rather be patient and get non broken "brand new" parts for my truck. agian like i said if i didnt care about this kinda shit i would have bought a used drop and saved some money. :squint:
