damn not enough. its really just for fun and cardio for me...no racing. when it was nice out i tried to go a couple times a week for ~20 mile rides. now im going to try to go 30-45 minutes on the trainer a few times a week and see how it is. how long can you stay on a trainer? i really have a hard time going more than an hour

That a mag or fluid trainer? I have a Cdale R700 myself and have been playing with the idea of picking up a fluid cyclops or that really nice 1upUSA trainer. Its like $300 but its recieved so many good reviews. At the same time I really want a fixie and the biachi pista/Specialized langsters are about $600 and oh so tempting.

its a mag...pretty simple one. was $200 with tax and the thing for the front tire at REI. its pretty decent for what I need.

Yeah the only reason I was looking at a trainer is cause new bib tights, cold weather riding gloves, booties, and a jacket will cost me ~ 2-300. I figure I might as well spend the money on a trainer and actually enjoy my riding.

Forgive me for my lack of bike knowladge....

Why cant you just wear normal clothes and ride in the winter? I understand that there is more drag but wouldnt that be a benefit come spring/race time?

Its uncomfortable to be honest. Riding in the cold at 16-20+ mph requires the right clothing. People underestimate the comfort of a good fitting jersey and bike shorts/bibs. They look a lil gay (so does leg shaving but I do that too) but after a few hrs in the saddle you learn to love it.

I ride a 50cm Cdale. Not sure what size that converts to in Bianchi sizing (different tt measurements and all). I am from NY you?

I am from MN and the frame is 54 I believe, center to center. I doubit it is feasible to ship it to ny, being that it retails only for 600

Yeah running does a number on your knees. So can cycling though, just need to keep your cadence in the 90-100 range and out of the big ring :)

A 54 is prolly too large for me anyways. Have a pic of it? Just curious to see it is all.

Yeah 105 cept for rear derailur which is Ultegra. They are speedplay frogs. I'm tempted pickup some keo's and sidis next season. I want to pick up a SS/Fixie and toss the frogs on those and use it as a training/beater/winter bike.
