Some store at the mall called World Bazaar was selling 500kV and 350kV stun guns so i got this 350 one for like 60 bux. It's smaller than my cell phone and charges into an outlet for 8 hrs of usage life, plus it has a flashlight. The store owners said they stopped carrying the 100kV one because people were reporting that it was too weak. They didn't recommened their 500kV one because they claimed 350kV is the threshold- any higher than that and cops will hassle you for having such a strong stun gun. I dunno if they were bullshitting, can anyone confirm this?

My co-worker told me that he they got tazered by a cop, it was a 120kV and he just fell immediately. I guess 350kV should do the trick then...

Anyway, I shocked myself in the leg and stomach a few times. It's kinda painful but I didn't try more than an instant. First time the gun flew outta my fuckin hand rofl. So how do I make sure when I use this thing someone's heart doesn't stop? In fact, what's the proper way to use these things in self defense? The store owner also said theres no law in most states that prevent you from carrying these around

If UIUC means champaign urbana, tasers and stun guns are not legal to carry in this state so yes cops will hassle you in that you'll get charged with unlawful use of weapons just like if you were carrying a concealed handgun. You also need a foid card to have (have, not carry) them and the person selling them to you is supposed to run a background check and apply the 24 hour waiting period that applies to long gun purchases.

Plus the generic stun gun you're talking about is generally regarded as worthless as you noticed yourself from "kinda painful." If it were mine I'd throw it at their head.

would it stop you if you were determined to rob someone? determined to do them serious harm via some handheld weapon?

if you can still do willful things (such as removing it from contact with yourself) while using it on yourself it is pretty much worthless.

I think it would. Seriously like right after i press it i yell and let go. it's not like i consciously let the button go, something just goes off like holy fuck this hurts like shit like when you touch a red hot piece of metal or something.

Have someone else stun you. And tell them to not stop until you're unconscious or foaming at the mouth.

the voltage doesn't mean shit. a stun gun is not a taser, they work on drastically differing principles.
