Seriously, First of all, It's 200 fucking dollars.

Shit was flimsy as fuck as soon as i got it, made with shit plastic, the d200 is magnesium, so they don't work together too well. You ALWAYS had to tighten the thing down all the way. with the big black wheel.

1st problem. Tab that holds the battery in breaks off, this was like 3 months after i got it. But when the door is locked the battery stays in. So I dealt with it

So we go up skiing on sat and i want to take the bat pack off so i can fit it in my backpack skiing, The wheel wont move, me and art try forcing it. It strips out the fucking gears. For some fucking reason there is 3 fucking gears that connect to the big wheel to screw it down, which i don't fucking understand. I said fuck it and took arts 30d with me instead.

So i get up today, and i have to fix the thing, Because the camera doesent fucking work, its separated just over 1/4 inch so i cant screw it down, or all the way off cause the gears are stripped and the 1/4 screw is somehow still not coming out. So I spend 2 hours trying to get the fucking thing off. I take out all the screws on the bottom of the grip, but of course you cant get to the fucking gears from that way.

D200 being magnesium for ultra leverage for mad breakages :wtc:

So i basically jammed a screwdriver down here, to try to get the gears to move with leverage, it just broke the teeth off the gears :riaa:

So i basically broke the peice a shit with a big screwdriverand finally got the main gear, i think the main gear was a better material, so it didint break.

    Stupid fucking gears

You can kind of see the main gear that i took the black wheel off, yeah, all the teeth fucking gone :riaa:

Now i'm going to send it to nikon with a big fucking letter and the warranty shit telling them it fucking sucks balls, I'll swich batteries til then and make sure to use astroglide on the 1/4 socket the next battery grip i get back.

I know Nikon knows they've had problems with it, but they will clearly see the fucking gears stripped to shit, I've taken it off maybe less than 10 times a year, but its always whenever I go sking to put it in my backpack, last time was about 5 months ago, so i guess that was too long.

I figured someone would ask that,

Mount Hood, on the glacier, Timberline lodge is open until Labor day Its where the us ski team practices. it was pretty fuckin sweet. I had to shoot with my friends 30d. I'm sorry but it can't meter worth a shit in snow compared to mine. Not to mention i think He dumped a bucket of sand in the sensor it was so dirty. I didint really care about cleaning up the pictures.

70 degree weather, slight wind, breathtaking views. It was awesome.

definatly was wondering the same thing. pics or shens...oh wait your camera broke  i'm just messing around with you dude, but that does suck. thats why i've never taken it off in the 6 months that i've owned it. but hopefully nikon adresses the problem with their new mb-10 or whatever it is for the d300.

    sorry bout your luck. :/
