I was extra excited for Leg day today because Ive been making some decent progress with Pur's routine. Half way through my squats I started to get a really tough lower back pump (which is super unusual for me). I streched out a bit then finished off squats with a drop set of 315 x 3, 225 x 3, 135 x 6.
After I finished that I could barely stand up and I had to cancel the rest of my leg routine. :wtc:

All I can think is that my form must have gone to shit without me noticing :dunno:. Anyways, I took 600mg of Ibuprofen and I feel fine now.
My question is If I want to do more leg work tomorrow to make up for this, what should I do? another full leg day?

And would not being hydrated enough be a possible cause of my problems today?

It was quite painful. Like an extremely intense cramp type of pain.

i'd just rest it till the next leg day. when your next leg day comes, make up for it then.

First ice. Next, eat a banana, seriously. Are you getting enough sodium in your diet? If it cramping becomes worse, try a salt pills. My brother used to get really bad cramps during football practices and be drained, it turned out he losing a shit load of electrolytes in sweat and they were not being replaced fast enough. Either that or try diluted Gatorade.

This "pump" or whatever went away after about 30 minutes. So Im hoping its not gonna be lasting.

if that's true then you better get used to it. I couldn't even bend over when I was using orals and doing deads

    no legs. no. quite possibly.

if you absolutely feel like you did completely insufficient work, dont know what your normal load bearing is on leg day. then do exercises that do not require back stability, in case you have injured something there. leg press (unless you roll up, in which case no), extensions, leg curls, etc.. no deads, squats or even hacks... JMHO

doing two leg days in a row, even if the first was mediocre is unlikely to be beneficial, since you are already in "recovery" from your first workout after about 6-8 hours. if doing two a days (same bodyparts), its generally reccomended no more than 8hrs between sessions.

this may seem a bit "safety pup", but an injury can set you back a lot further than doing a half workout.

Thats all good advice. I'll stick to it. Thanks.

I think I'll just do my normal chest day tomorrow then.

I am lucky no one uses the platform at the rec center on campus for anything besides deadlifts, so I can play all I want.
