So i arrive in Rapid city South Dakota. I call my point of contact. They have no fucking clue who i am, or how i'm getting from the airport to the rally point. I shanghai to airforce enlisted guys to bring me where i need to be. I finally locate Sgt Major, who informs me we are holding in place until wednesday because the tents have not arrived as ordered. Soldiers in charge of the mess facility in the field have not arrived. I'm sure there are plenty of other suprises in store.

Smell that? No, it's not ass that is L'eau de clusterfuck.

    Jesus.

The clusterfuck continues. The tents have arrived (but are not erected), and we have been living in the fairgrounds... which is where they have rodeos and other livestock showings. I can't even begin to describe how fucked this op has been without stepping on toes. This is beyond SNAFU... some of this shit is dangerous, and will be addressed.

with my luck i'll be stuck in edwards afb/mojave dessert all my career. exact opposite of where you are at, still i'll take crazy heat over crazy cold any day. plus i'm near a real city(LA), hell south Dakota's barely even a state.

Yeah, I'd rather be in the heat than the shit ass cold. Hopefully I'll get out of here in 2 years when I separate.

The Army is great at screwing things up. In 2003, they mobilized my unit and sent all of our equipment overseas on a boat. (we are construction engineers, so thats a lot of shit) They then sent my whole unit over to Kuwait and when we landed, they told us it was a mistake, that demob orders were issued at the same time we left we were supposed to get sent home rather than overseas. We stayed in country for a month doing absolutely nothing and then got sent home. Looking back at it, the Army wasted a shitload of money shipping our stuff over just to have the boat turn around and bring it back home. Yes folks, thats where your tax money is going.
