Basic Cliffs. Go to the link.

    http://twipphoto.com/archives/3410

Read the "review" of the camera cover then the reviews. I'm the second commenter "Chris"

Basicly I say that it's a cool idea, but leaving that thing on all the time is kinda stupid. This is the guy who always goes on and on about how a camera is just a tool he uses to capture an image. So I asked him why not use it like a tool, then he snaps back.

I made a reply to his first comment and it got removed. (All I said was how I respected his opinion, but I didn't see why you should keep that thing on if you're working in a studio or taking a nice Sunday Photowalk.) It made it thorough then got removed.

Now his front page has a reminder to people on the commenting policy!

WTF? This dude can't take someone having a different opinion than his so he bans me from making any more comments, reminds people that it's his way or the highway, then accuses everyone that doesn't blindly follow him as being a competitor of LensCoat and posting bullshit in his comments section!

Seriously, this guy's got to get off his fucking horse! Anyone who's listened to his podcats or read his blog has to have noticed that he's a complete whore for money! I mean his "reviews" are nothing but him braging about shit he bought, braging about buying his $8k lens, or posting fucking unboxing videos of point and shoots!?

I really liked TWiP but this shit is just getting a little too much. I'm starting to see that Scott Bourne is just a puppet for the highest bidder!

    Anyone else care to comment?

Scott bourne is a business man first, and a good one. The only reason why he's so wealthy which is rare for a wildlife photographer.

So yes, he is a whore for the highest bidder.

Yeah, it makes me laugh too. I mean, sure he's a good photographer, and knows tons about the business of it, but really, all he seems to do lately is brag about how much stuff he has and how much he can spend on gear.

It's a shame because I really liked listening to (the other guys) on TWiP.

Yeah but at the same times he gives most of it away, I don't think he means to be a bad guy, he does help a lot of people out by just giving them gear if he thinks they deserve it. Just in the last few weeks he's given out like 5 drobos, lens baby composer, and some of his lenses he doesn't use to beginning photographers who's pics he liked.

But yeah, he gets his panties in a bunch like a woman if you disagree with him.

I don't think that HE is the one giving it away. I'd be supprised if he was the one buying those things out of pocket to give away. I'd be willing to bet that it's all free from his sponsors to give away as a promotion.

The thing I hate the most about the podcast is they, mostly Scott, feels the need to name drop expensive gear and talk like it's a requirement.

I'm sorry, but the amateur to intermediate photographer doesn't need a $500 Manfrotto tripod with a $300 head. I have a $90 Quantaray that has 2 levels, a fully adjustable head, and doubles as a monopod when you pull out the center post. No, it's not the lightest thing but it's sturdy. But they sure like to talk like you'll never take a good photo with anything else.

I've been listening for a year and it's slowly moved from episodes that give insight for techniques on taking good photos to just whoring gear.

I agree with this, alex is just as bad as scott about expensive shit, they've definitely gotten away from technique and focus on gear/products/services. Which I guess is how they get paid.

He sure does take the internet a little seriously. Does he have an outside life other than work? He's insane!

    Cliffs?

It's a shame. I like the show, or I liked it up to about 40-45 episodes, not it's just kind of rambling about gear and how much money he spends.

I mean, don't get me wrong, this guy knows his shit, and is probably a much better photographer than I am right now, but really, why be such a cum stain?

Cause he's crossing into that realm of getting expensive shit for free because of his name.

Little known fact about scott, he invented internet radio, and that's where he made all of his money when his company sold for $$$ back in the 90's.

"Scott Bourne is widely recognized as a pioneer in the digital audio field. Bourne pioneered the use of streaming media on the internet as the founder of Netradio, the world's first internet radio network. A specialist in the use of internet business and marketing applications, Bourne has advised internet start-ups and established corporations in the use of internet technology.
He was the co-host and producer of one of the first internet radio news programs in North America, InfoBahn News broadcast on KWJZ in Minneapolis. Bourne also was the producer of LifeOnline Radio, a weekly nationally syndicated radio program about the internet.

Bourne's work with NetRadio and other internet ventures has been featured in Wired Magazine, USA Today, U.S. News & World Report, Internet World Magazine, Information Age, Forbes, Radio & Production magazine and 200 other national and international publications. He was recognized by Websight Magazine as one of the 100 most influential and important people on the Web in 1995 and 1996."

they changed their tos saying anything you post on facebook they could sublicense royalty free, so as a guy who makes bank every year on stock photography he closed his account. didn't want to post anything and agree to them owning it.
