    or, police your brass?

  3. From what I understand the microstamping is rendered illegible by the time any significant quantity of ammo is fired anyways. Make no mistake, this law has nothing to do with reducing crime or helping police. It is solely intended to make it harder for gun manufacturers to do business in CA.

Or just shoot your gun a few times at the range until the etching is obliterated. Frankly this legislation is entirely useless and a waste of money.

I wouldn't mind this. It doesn't affect the shootability or looks of the gun like some other legislation COUGH MONSTERMAN GRIP BULLET BUTTON COUGH. I can't imagine serial numbered primers directly contributing to a closed case since it'd be easy to steal, and it is pretty retarded, but I honestly wouldn't mind this too much.

It wouldn't be that hard to take of about .001 of an inch and remove the etching, more than likely it would still work, that said heaven forbid you buy a aftermarket fireing pin. But don't mention that to anyone because it is just another stupid gun law and if they realize it's stupidity then they might go with something more like the monsterman grip.

Considering revolvers dominate the top 10 crime guns, this won't do much.

yes you can do all of those things: replace firing pin or file it down, and police your brass.

the thing is this law will never go into full effect. the technology behind microstamping is copyrighted until 2020 or something stupid like that.

it will never go into effect.

You've got nothing to worry about then. By 2020, all guns/knives/pencils/shoelaces will be illegal in Cali, so this will be pointless.

If the shell stamp doesn't fit, you must acquit.

A file isn't what you want to use. Use a stone, like your knife sharpening set.

If this shit really goes through I will buy a lathe and make unmarked firing pins for you CA guys. You will have to finish them yourselves as they will be attached to a piece of stock with a .010 flashing.

I will sell them as fancy nails.
