Yeah... I'd just like to go on a rant here...

Friend of mine said his family was getting a new F-150... so they went and got a new F-250..... what the hell... f-250 = old and busted, f150 = new hotness. [/rant]

the one I wanted came to $36,000 -- too much for a Ford truck but maybe next year...

I didn't drive one for the fact that I knew I wouldn't want an older one after that.

I bought a 2001 F150 SuperCrew Lariat that day and totally love it :bigthumb:

They drive very very nicely, and they're built tight as a tank.

Build quality is excellent. Nice, thin, uniform gaps inside and out, nothing was uneven, and nothing moved, rattled or vibrated even on very rough roads. The new 5.4L is nice. Not the most powerful truck I've driven, but very refined idle quality, noise and power delivery.

The ride was kind of jiggly, but I think that's the nature of the beast when it comes to an FX4.

At the GM Autoshow In Motion even I went to, there's one thing that I noticed the new Ford lacked that the other big pickups had. The Ford did NOT have the HUGE front bumper gap that all the other big pickups had. The gaps were very tight on the Ford. :eek3:

Not all is perfect with the new F-150 though, I'll mention more about that tomorrow.

The sure did leave much room for aftermarket tires/wheels with the rear shocks mounted on the outside of the leafs. The rides suppose to be the best though.

    lies!

  20. Ford needs to turn the Ranger into a smaller version of the new f-150, and I'll be happy.

If I were going to get a truck, a fullsize would be more than I need.
