I hit the gym with a friend two days ago. I haven't done any real workouts in a few weeks so I knew I was going to be pretty sore. We did biceps and triceps. When we left, my arms were so sore I couldn't put them straight down my side.

Now the soreness in my Bi's is through the rough. They aren't in pain but just so fucking sore, I can't straighten them out and things like pulling a gallon of milk out of the fridge is a two handed job.

I'm hoping when I wake up tomorrow, things will be much better.

    Any ideas? :o

    Sit Down.
Sit with one leg on the opposite knee like an old man.
Insert arm palm facing ceiling under calf of the leg that is up.
Arch Back/Push down leg that is up
    ????
    profit

I'm not a stranger to the sore feeling of hitting the gym for the first time in a while but this is just like an injury, hindering your daily tasks to the point where it gets frustrating.

exact same thing with me. i had trouble using my arms to eat, shower, pick up even the lightest of objects. it was a blow to the ego that after just one day in the gym, my ass was kicked that hard :o

Yeah normal, specially after a few weeks of inactivity.

Not the same muscle group, but I know after I started squats again after a few weeks. The first time I couldn't walk right for the next week or so :)

a nice hot shower helps, as hot as you can stand. Or if your gym happens to have a hot tub, take advantage of it.

    I've done both.

Today is no better then yesterday. Hot showers/baths, massaging/rubbing, drinking a lot of water, increasing my protein intake.

    Dammit this sucks. :hsd:

So, your advice is to increase protein intake and this will help clear up the pain? :hsugh:

enjoy your muscle soreness, nothing will make it disappear, but there are a lot of ways mentioned in this thread to ease the pain. If you keep up with your workout routine it will never hurt that bad again, the first times always the worst/best. I kind of like the way it feels.

contrast showers...localized to just your bi's if you can take your shower head down...definitely helps. 30 seconds of REALLY cold / 30 seconds of hot back and forth 5-6 times and you'll feel awesome.
