20 minutes your lucky. I drive one or two hours for my "local" match.

I drove 300 miles for a series match last saturday.

  5. You're complaining about spending 5-6 bucks to drive to the range? What do you shoot where you can afford it, but can't afford the 6 bucks for gas?

Dude, you're lucky as hell it's only 20 minutes away: mine is easily 40 minutes out in the middle of buttfuck nowhere... and that's if I want my piece and quiet shooting outdoors. Otherwise, I'm stuck going to a 20-yard indoor range with a bunch of crusty old control freaks who don't understand the concept of doubletaps. And that's assuming I actually get a stall, seeing as it's only open for 2 hours on Monday nights and 4 hours on Saturday mornings (with the IPSC warriors who think they're hot shit for doubletaping two A-zone hits from 5 yards).

    Nearest free range: 40 min

Nearest membership range: 45 min - 1 hr

    Yeah :sad2:

  10. Maybe you could find a bus that goes that way. Just put all your gear in a guitar case and slap some anti-war stickers on it.

Nearest range (indoor, pistol only) is 30 minutes away and populated by douche canoes. The closest place where I can let my AR sing is over an hour away (each way).

Outdoor range is an hour away. Indoor range is 15-30 depending on traffic. :hs: I haven't been to the outdoor in 3 months

Yeah, I was pretty disappointed in the lack of shooting ranges in Charleston. I have two indoor ranges relatively close but the only outdoor ranges are out in the middle of nowhere in Francis Marion state forest. :ugh2:

I don't shoot as much anymore because the range fee is almost $25 no matter how long you're there... fucking crooks. And then there's the price of ammo... :hsd:

I'm not a pro, I'm just some random nut job. Regardless if your range is 20 minutes away take advantage. Shooting ranges disappear all the time, and seems like you have to go farther and farther.

I once had a range 20 minutes away. The cops took it over and now it's their private range. When it was that close I kind of took it for granted. Now that it's gone and I got to motor for hours to get some decent shooting I really kind of kick myself.

    Get out there and shoot.

The outdoor range I go to is a DNR range too. :h5:

The only indoor range around doesn't allow military-style and large-caliber rifles. :greddy:

You assholes are lucky. The only range within an hour of me is a DNR range. I had a full year membership to a great indoor range, but used it only once in that year because it's too damned far away.
