well, not really beer, but i did go out on lunch break today. sorry if this is long. a friend of a friend was selling off some stuff to purchase a new glock. i didn't get a steal, but i picked up a stainless, 3" ruger security six with rubber grips and some really nice target sights. i'm not sure if they come that way or not (re: the target sights). i've never owned a nice revolver before. i've been looking for a good .357 for several months now. our local used market sucks and the one dealer i have to work with wanted several hundred over what i thought was reasonable for a new one. when i came across this deal, i jumped and jumped fast. it came with 250 rounds of various ammo and 2 speed loaders and i got it for $350. it is in very good shape. it does have a little pit in the steel on the right side near the front sight, but nothing serious. we kept talking and he wanted to unload a H&R Topper model 58 single shot 16 guage. he wanted $50 and it was in great shape so i picked it up. it is TIGHT! i'll probably give it to my nephew as he does not have a shotgun. we talked some more and he wanted to sell a raven .25 auto. ok, don't laugh. he wanted $25 for it, so i bought it. i figure i will just hang onto it until the next gun "buy back" program pops up and i'll get $50 for it and double my money. i stopped at walmart after work and bought some .25 ammo and came home and shot both pistols for a minute before i had go out to eat with my fiance. i shot at 7 yards (resting on my truck hood) with the ruger and put 3 shots right on the money and you could cover the group with a golf ball. the last 3 shots all drifted right, with the furthest flier about 3 inches from the bullseye. not too shabby considering i can't grip the revolver the same as i do my glocks or my 1911, it just feels funny. i will get used to it, but shooting a revolver is much different that a semi to me. then i shot one mag through the raven at 7 yards offhand and i managed to keep them all on a paper plate. my fiance wanted to shoot a mag through it, but she just shot it to shoot it, she wasn't aiming. oh well, baby steps. i'm suprised the damn thing fired at all, much less with no problems. i still plan on ditching it as soon as i can make a buck or two off of it. i certainly don't plan on carrying it. my camera died about two weeks ago, so i'll try to borrow one tomorrow and snag a pic of all three of them and have them up tomorrow night for those that yell "pics, or STFU!". not a bad lunch break i'd say. i think i'm outa here for the night, but i'll be back tomorrow.
